Abstract
Localization properties of residue fluctuations in globular proteins were studied using Gaussian network models. The participation ratio of fluctuations in globular proteins showed a universal behavior confirmed by theoretical calculations in real globular and model proteins. It was found that the loops connecting the secondary structures were responsible for the behavior.
