Robotic assisted pancreatic surgery

Computer-assisted robotic surgery of the pancreas is a developing specialty. With improving technology, more complex operations can be performed laparoscopically or with the aide of a computer. The advantages of computer-assisted robotic surgery may be seen in procedures that require high magnification, fine motor control, microsurgical techniques, and articulation within confined spaces. Pancreatic ductal reconstruction following pancreatic head resection, distal pancreatectomy, and pancreatic pseudocyst drainage are some of the procedures being performed laparoscopically today.
