Normal Hematopoiesis and Blood Cell Maturation

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Understanding normal hematopoiesis is critical to understanding hematologic disorders, and has likewise been the central research focus in the areas of hematology and hematopathology. Chapter 1 explains hematopoietic development, transcriptional control of hematopoiesis, and hematopoietic niche. This chapter also reviews recent advances in normal hematopoiesis and hematopoietic hierarchy, as well as hematopoietic stem cell biology. Chapter 2 focuses on hematopoietic growth factors and their receptors and the signaling pathways downstream of cytokine receptors.
