Abstract
The authors consider a model of a two-dimensional syncytium representing a layer of parallel and infinite fibres connected by lateral contacts. Expressions have been obtained for the distribution of the electrotonic potential for an intracellular source of current of finite dimensions and constant length and for the input resistance of the syncytium.
