Abstract
Since the early days of personal digital assistants and wireless technologies, programmers and librarians have been exploring ways to access PubMed. Searching and viewing abstracts on a mobile device require different features than searching from a desktop computer. Mobile access to PubMed is available in several formats, including mobile-optimized websites, MEDLINE-specific apps, mobile citation managers, and journal browser apps. Each of these mobile resources sports its own unique features. Users must try them out and decide which best fit their needs.
