Meniscal pathology is one of the most common orthopedic diagnoses. Physical examination and basic radiographic evaluation play an important role in the evaluation of knee pain. The diagnosis of and characterization of meniscal tears and associated findings is conducted via the utilization of magnetic resonance imaging. This imaging technique enables a surgeon to associate a prognosis with the pathology and determine a treatment plan. In special circumstances, MR or CT arthrography can also serve as valuable diagnostic tools.
