Abstract
Interstitial cystitis poses problems for the physician in diagnosis and treatment, and it may be tempting to conclude that the patient with normal test results who fails to respond to therapy needs emotional counseling. With understanding and persistence, however, most patients can obtain some relief from this truly painful and debilitating condition.
