Abstract
Twenty patients who had coronary artery disease with frequent ventricular premature complexes were given tocainide and quinidine alone and in combination to evaluate the effectiveness of these three treatment modes in reducing ventricular premature complexes. The two drugs, when combined in less than maximal, well-tolerated doses, did not cause dose-related side effects and were more effective than maximal doses of either drug used alone.
