Abstract
This case report describes a patient who is taken to the emergency room with a stuck stimulating interscalene catheter placed for a shoulder replacement surgery. As you assess the patient and build a differential diagnosis and treatment plan, you debate with your colleague the merits of these stimulating catheters. You will review the existing literature for these catheters, including their results, limitations, biases, and values to the field.
