An annual review course in neurology for psychiatrists: Results and implications

The annual course 'Clinical Neurology for Psychiatrists' has been attended by 3,300 psychiatrists since 1976. It provides an organized review of a series of topics in clinical neurology that are usually illustrated with videotaped examples, which were a major aspect of the most highly regarded lectures. A survey found that 80% of attendees thought that the course was excellent and that 74% thought that the course added to their clinical abilities. In view of such courses' national attendance, cost, importance in housestaff training and subsequent reevaluation, and questioned usefulness, public disclosure of annual courses' acceptance and impartial reviews should be published.
