Abstract
A prospective evaluation of oxygen saturation (sat) measured by Marquette Tramscope 12 (Mar) and Nellcor N-200 (Nel) pulse oximeters (PO) was performed. Measurements by (PO) were compared to arterial blood gas saturation (abg sat). Nel measured sat more accurately and more quickly than Mar. We propose that the time required to obtain the most accurate sat (most ace) should be a routine part of oximeter evaluation.
