Abstract

We conclude: His-Purkinje damage is common in inferior wall infarction; AV and SA node damage are common in anterior wall infarction; His-Purkinje disease occurs frequently in patients with multiple myocardial infarctions; multi-level damage is frequent; and the His bundle electrogram is a useful adjunct to the ECG in elucidating the site of heart block in acute myocardial infarction.
