Abstract
1. 1. The statement that a cholecystojejunostomy will not remain patent in the absence of biliary obstruction has been questioned. 2. 2. Cholecystojejunostomies were created in 6 dogs and were patent 5 to 9 months later. Absence of any biliary obstruction was proved at re-exploration. 3. 3. Experimental observations show definitely that a cholecystojejunostomy performed in anticipation of common bile duct obstruction can be expected to remain patent.
