Abstract

We reviewed the records of 283 cocaine abusers consecutively admitted to a municipal hospital, and identified eight patients (2.8%) who presented with seizures. Four (1.4%) had focal or generalized seizures temporally associated with cocaine use. Baeed on these four cases and five previous reports, we conclude that although seizures are relatively rare in hospitalized cocaine users, they are provoked by all major routee of administration, and may be partial or generalized.
