Abstract
The updated 2018 International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) cervical cancer classification system placed imaging in the central role for accurately assigning tumor staging and for planning appropriate care for these patients. The role of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in uterine cervical cancer is widely accepted not only for the optimal evaluation of locoregional staging and the detection of metastases, but also for evaluating the response to treatment and detecting tumor recurrence and potential complications. This chapter focuses on the role of MRI in cervical cancer staging, image acquisition techniques and protocols, and radiology reporting, as well as frequently encountered challenges.
