Abstract
In conclusion, MR imaging is a useful method for evaluating nerve disease at the elbow. It can portray the normal anatomy and identify unsuspected space-occupying masses. Severe intrinsic nerve disease can be depicted. MR imaging may play a role in narrowing the differential clinical diagnosis of nerve disease, such as in the case of radial nerve entrapment mimicking refractory lateral epicondylitis. Despite its obvious contributions, however, the accuracy, specificity, and sensitivity of MR imaging in elucidating nerve disease at the elbow remain unknown. Future prospective studies with surgical correlation in a large patient population are necessary to further illuminate this point.
