Abstract
The authors have studied the passive electrical properties of the region of the sinus node (s.n.) of the rabbit heart. All the regions of the s.n. have electronic anisotropy diminishing with shift from the crista terminalis towards the interatrial septum. The input resistance is maximal in the zone of the true pacemakers and falls on movement to the side of the boundary layer of the s.n. Analysis of the results gives evaluations of 3 and 104 Ω·cm2 for the specific resistances of contact and electrogenic membrane respectively.
