Abstract

There is an improved method for harvesting cadaveric kidneys. This technique features a central approach to the retroperitoneum and provides optimal exposure of the central portions of the renal vessels. The donor kidneys thereby obtained have vessels of a length and condition which are optimal for subsequent transplantation.
