Abstract
Fetal tissues from two abortuses with maternal family histories of adrenoleukodystrophy and with abnormal fatty acids in cultured amniotic fluid cells were examined by light and electron microscopy. Striations and lamellae pathognomonic of adrenoleukodystrophy were found in fetal-zone adrenocortical and Leydig cells. Their significance and differentiation from other lamellar inclusions in adrenoleukodystrophy are discussed.
