Abstract

The antithrombin generating effects of tirofiban were compared with abciximab in patients who underwent intervention and received intravenous heparin based on their weight. A standardized protocol serially measured the ACT, F1.2, and platelet receptor occupancy. Both GP IIb/IIIa agents had similar effects on reducing thrombin generation, and there were no significant differences between the groups at any measurement interval.
