N2 - To the Editor: In their recent article, “Detection and Treatment of Hypertension at the Work Site” (N Engl J Med 293:65–68, 1975), Alderman and Schoenbaum state that “of the 94 patients followed for one year, 97 per cent remained under therapy, with no untoward effect” (abstract). In the body of the article, they state, “Blood pressure was satisfactorily controlled in these patients, but they frequently complained of fatigue, lassitude, impotence, and inability to concentrate.” The “Discussion” states that “more than 80 per cent of patients achieved satisfactory results without a single untoward event of any consequence.” I consider “fatigue, lassitude,.
