Abstract
After publishing our paper, we found that the antibody (Novus; NB100-56186) that we used for localizing XIAP does not recognize XIAP, but instead most likely recognizes the cleaved Caspase 9 which conjugates with XIAP in the apoptosome. We reported this problem to the manufacturer, which consequently withdrew the antibody from the market in 2016. Therefore, Figure 7 does not show the localization of XIAP. We regret this error. However, this error does not affect the main conclusion of our paper. Our follow-up publication (https://doi.org/10.1038/s41419-019-2019-x) supports the protective role of XIAP in the oocytes from apoptotic elimination. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused.
