Abstract
As per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 1 in 13 people have asthma, a chronic respiratory disease. The diagnosis, treatment and management of asthma have evolved over time. The classification of asthma endotypes, and phenotypes as well the step-up approach to pharmacotherapy is discussed in this chapter. Emerging biologic therapies are also discussed. Routine re-assessment and adjustment of treatment is recommended.
