Description
The proposed research is relevant to public health because the discovery of a new hepatocellular mechanism that regulates insulin sensitivity will provide new insights into the pathogenesis of obesity- related disorders. The proposed studies are relevant to the mission of the NIDDK because they are expected to identify new therapeutic targets for the management of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes.
